About Therapy

“Perhaps there’s no solution for how I feel.”

Often, people think their suffering or pain is just a part of life. So, they suffer in silence, knowing something isn’t quite right.

Many people struggle, feel lost, and don’t know how to get relief.

Therapy feels too foreign, too intimidating, or vulnerable. So they get stuck using the same tools they’ve been using. But, there’s no change.

Here’s the truth. Therapy can make a difference in your life. Rather than settling for the status quo, let’s make some real change.

Here’s what you will experience in therapy with me.

First and foremost, I want us to establish a trusting working relationship that allows for openness. As time passes in our work together, you will feel like a more authentic version of yourself. Questions about yourself will start to be answered, and your relationships will flourish.

Sessions will feel like a reset button for the week – an hour where you slip on a pair of glasses and peer back at your life with aided vision. Together, we compassionately bring consciousness to your actions. Our conversation flows naturally as we express our mutual curiosity about your experience.

You will leave with a sense of ease and appreciation for yourself. A new layer will be exposed, and a new truth will be unearthed.

As sessions progress, your confidence will spill over into your ability to set healthy boundaries, engage in productive conflict, and feel at ease in your skin. What once made you anxious now does not. Conflict and struggle in your life feel like invitations for growth, and our sessions will be the space to step into that growth together.

About Lauren Capone, MA, LMHC

AdminI have firsthand experience about saving a marriage.

I am no stranger to the growth process in my life and relationships. Restoring a broken relationship is possible because I have experienced it myself. And now, I help my clients do the same.

My deepest desire is to help people better understand themselves and create loving, deep relationships.

This desire led me to enroll in NYU’s Mental Health and Wellness Counseling program. I have since sought mentorship and further training in Imago Relationship Therapy, inner child work, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing.

Meditation, yoga, and breathwork are integral to my work as a former yoga teacher. Above all, kindness, compassion, and an abounding curiosity about creating the environment for our work together.
