FAQ

Are sessions virtual or in-person?
Sessions are conducted solely via a telehealth platform, Doxy.me. This platform is free, easy to use, and HIPAA-compliant.
What are your hours?
Hours vary depending on the day, but I see clients primarily in the mornings and evenings. I also have Saturday morning appointments.
How long are the sessions?
Intake appointments are one hour for both individuals and couples. After the initial appointment, individual sessions are 45 minutes.
What is your cancellation policy?
To cancel an appointment without a fee, you must give 24 hours’ advance notice. Exceptions are made for medical emergencies and unforeseeable circumstances.
What age ranges do you work with?

I work primarily with adults, but often, a child or struggling teen in the home also requires counseling. This is an essential part of creating safety in the home, and I also treat it.

Do your clients receive assignments to work on in between sessions?

Any assignments given between sessions involve personal reflection or an interpersonal task. A personal reflection might sound like, “This week, notice when the feeling of being belittled comes up for you. What are the situations? What thoughts are associated with that feeling? What actions did you take?”

An interpersonal task might sound like, “This week, offer your partner three appreciations in which you express gratitude for their character or actions.”

What is your clinical training and experience?
I received my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling and Wellness from NYU and am a licensed mental health counselor. I hold a 500-hour certification to teach yoga. Additionally, I have countless hours in mentorship pertaining specifically to how to treat couples and individuals using real skill-building alongside deep introspection and healing.
Do you ever fight with your spouse?
Of course! We used to fight intensely, and I would feel shut down or hurt for days. Now, when we disagree, we work through our conflict much faster. We can problem-solve skillfully and compassionately. This is what I teach my clients to do.
Do you have kids?
I do! I have two kids who love and challenge parts of me that weren’t apparent until I became a mother. This is why I know this work is essential and should not be done alone.
What about pets?
We have a dog named Deborah, who we adopted seven years ago. She is the kids’ favorite playmate!
